Carolyn Welch Clifford has been reappointed to the Leadership Committee for the Public Safety Affinity Group of the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA). NAPPA is a professional organization of attorneys who represents pension funds across the United States. Carolyn has been a speaker at the conference for the past five years.

Carolyn Welch Clifford and Shawn Flaherty are presenting programs at the Illinois State Bar Association Law Ed Program entitled "Everything a Lawyer Needs to Know about Representing a Firefighter or a Police Officer before a Pension Board" on April 29, 2014 at the ISBA Chicago Regional Office. Carolyn is speaking on how the disability hearing process is conducted and Shawn is speaking on the Public Employee Disability Act and the Public Safety Employee Benefits Act.

John Kelly is attending "9-1-1 Goes to Washington" being held March 23-26, 2014 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia and presented by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA). This program brings together hundreds of 9-1-1 professionals from around the country along with policy leaders to explore and discuss today's most pressing 9-1-1 and emergency communication issues. This is the only event where you can learn about the policy challenges facing public safety and take immediate action to address them through dialog with your elected and appointed officials.
Ottosen Britz provided Advanced Trustee Training for the IAFPD
On March 22, 2014, Shawn Flaherty, Brian O'Connor and David Zafiratos provided Advanced Trustee Training for the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts at the Cherry Valley Fire Protection District. Over 125 fire district trustees and officials were in attendance for the three hour educational presentation.
