Brian O’Connor’s practice includes local government, probate and estate planning, residential and commercial real estate, and general business law.
In his governmental practice, Mr. O’Connor advises and counsels clients in various aspects of law including corporate matters, annexation and boundary issues, ordinance enforcement, and employee pension, hiring, promotion, and discipline. In his general practice, he counsels private clients on estate planning and regularly represents clients in both residential and commercial real estate transactions. His business law practice involves establishing and maintaining corporate, limited liability, and not-for-profit organizations and partnerships, and providing advice on organizational and employment matters.

A skilled researcher and investigator, he quickly identifies and acquires the information necessary to resolve an issue. He is fully committed to achieving his clients’ goals and objectives, and works diligently on their behalf to those ends.
Mr. O’Connor enjoyed a distinguished military career prior to law school retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after more than twenty-one years of service with the U.S. Army. Following his retirement, Mr. O’Connor was employed in the private sector, in the United States and overseas. While in law school, Mr. O’Connor interned with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, and served as a law clerk with this firm.
Publications and Presentations
Mr. O’Connor has authored a number of articles for the Elburn Herald and Kane County Bar Journal on matters of general legal interest. He has lectured before the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts, the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts, and the Kane County Bar Association.
